These were the top dr.'s we would talk about on the lip board all the time.

A couple of members had used this dr. and seemed to like him a lot

Question

So even though he has pediatrics and ENT listed as specialties I guess since he's working pretty much exclusively in facial PS he'd be ok to consult with? Or should I stick w/ a derm or PS...:sign_help:Whatcha think?

Well, if you do decide that Silikon 1000 is for you - then I would look him up. But to just get botox and juvederm, I think any cosmetic derm would be great. I had my last botox treatment with an Occular PS, and I must say he has done the BEST botox I have ever gotten.
They really know this area of the face best.

You could consider that too sweetie

You can see I could use some filler in my N/L folds, but I'm guessing the Silikon 1000 would maybe be overkill for me since my lips are already fairly full, though I definitely want some juvederm in the upper lipline to fill out the slight feathering that's starting. :rant:Stinkin' aging.

How did you find out about the occular PS you used? There are tons of boobie docs here in Portland:image290:, but don't know if there are any occular PS's:super_smilies028:.

:00135:You should just fly here for a week and help me find someone to save my face from the age monsters!!:bounce2:

You can call around sweetie, and ask some PS office if they know of any Occular PS. Your N/L folds in those pictures do not look bad at all!
Remember some line is suppose to be there, no line looks totally artifical.

The thing is with any of this, it is maintenance, and it can cost every 3 -4 months ( because this is only how long this stuff lasts - both botox and juvederm )

It's a hard cycle to start......but you will love the outcome......but your DH might not like the $$$! lol! You can always say the money goes for something else, though!

Hugs!

Well the N/L folds aren't horrible, but I do think it's time to start some filler for them before they get any worse. I posted both pix cause the 1st shows my lips better from the front, but the lighting is bad so the 2nd shows the N/L folds. It just bugs me, ya know?

Thanks for the advice about calling PS's for a referral to an occular PS. Didn't think of that! :wink(1):

Sweetie, if you are looking into a permanent solution for the N/L folds - ask about Bio-Alcamid. It just got FDA approval, and one treatment is usually all that is needed. The injection runs $1500.00 - but the downside of getting something permanent in the N/L folds is when it comes time for a face lift, this could be problematic....when they pull the skin back. As the filler line might move during that process.

That is the only drawback though of bio-alcamid.

Bio-alcamid is not used really for the lips......but you could ask the PS or dr.'s reasoning for this. They all have their own preferences with what works.

Good point...I've tentatively planned to do a face/brow lift for my 50th birthday, figure I'll be ready for one by then, so sometimes I think I should just hang in there til that time comes, but 5 years is a long time! Kinda want some :help-2: now!

Oh im glad i found someone who goes to him. When i asked my ps about it he was like no way.He told me they have no way of knowing the long term effects of it and told me he wouldnt recommend anyone but that i could get juvederm.Im like yea thats great and all but i really dont fell like spending 500$ every 6 months. When i first heard of silikon it was on this other forum and the gril wanted to kno if anyone else had done it and everyone was like omg dont do that its bad blah blah, but i still wanted to kno so i looked it up and saw alot of befor/afters and it looked way better than juvederm. All it said was if u do chose to do make sure to find a skilled dr.Im glad i found this forum

Bailey,

I have been reading all the threads on Silikon injections and am considering it. I noticed on your list of California PS's is the PS I went to for the BL/BA. The one with the attitude. Do you know anyone who has had Silikon treatments from him? I am suppose to get another Artefil treatment from him but Artefil has been hard to get. His office is going to call me when it comes in but it has been 3 mos already.

I am not sure I want to go back to him. He will ask me about my breasts and I will have to tell him we hate them. He will really have an attitude then. Do you know anyone else here in SDiego that does Silikon? I have checked with Dr. Pousti and a few others I know but no luck.

Hon, I am sorry, I sure don't.
I have to say.......that I feel that the two very best injectors of Silikon 1000 is either Dr. Wirtzer in Sherman Oaks or Dr. Lam in Dallas, Texas.
Those are my choices.
I went to someone else on that list first for my first three rounds, and my lips were a diaster after the treatment. Dr. Wirtzer fixed my lips.

Hope this helps some hon

I have to tell you Blondi, in all fairness, he truly is the best. And he works with you until you are happy.
He won't let you go overboard (which I like) - but he is truly an artist.
He has a wonderful flowing. He does a ton of celebrities.

Where do you live? There are lots of great silikon 1000 injectors......but make sure whomever you go to, that you go to someone who is experienced with this product, and that they know how to inject it in the micro-droplet technique.

The thing is Sili, is that you will see results right away......but the first treatment will not be as dramatic as you are used to with other fillers (mainly because the dr. only injects between .4 - .6cc per treatment).
The treatments are spaced out over a 6-8 week period to allow for your own collagen to grow and encapsulate the microdroplet silikon 1000 beads

The second and third appointment is where you will see the most improvement.......the thing is with Silikon, is that sometimes it might take more than 3 rounds to get to your desired shape and size.
I did with me.

I hope this helps you some
