Sooooooooooo, I'm still being a good girl. Me and DH got our cardio in today and worked out in the yard a bit. I found a few easy tips online that we implemented today to battle the old blood pressure. Drink a glass of oj in the morning and at night, eat avocodoes (guacamole for me) for potassium-I have sweet potatoes and bananas, too, drinking more tea (each cup drops the bottom number by 1 point, works up to 4 cups of tea/day), and I repeated a soothing mantra for 5 minutes in a quiet room. They also recommend holding a loved one's hand for 10 minutes, followed by a brief hug, when you're gonna get your bp checked. Xena, I checked my bp when we went to publix today, and it was 113/87.
Idk what my top number was at the ps, but my bottom was the problem, at 101-105. I felt sooooooo good seeing that. I'm not supposed to start my xanex til Monday, so I'm feeling quite optimistic now!

Thanks so much. After seeing my good bp reading earlier today, I felt even better. I know I can get through these next few days. Keeping focused on lowering the bp really gives me something to occupy my thoughts.

Wow so sorry to hear about the delay. Did you know that you can go to any fire station and ask them to take your BP? they will be more than happy to do it for you! And what could be better than a hot fireman taking your Bp?

Wish you lived closer and I'd take ya over to our therapeutic ridin' center and you could lower that BP in a heart beat:wink: Not only brushin' an equine or two but also watchin' those children and adults with disabilities durin' there class time when a big ol' smile lights up those faces. A guarantee for sure to lower that BP doll! ![]() Let me know if I can help you sweetie, and yep folks in 'Bama are quite tuff IMO:wink: Positive thoughts and a prayer too for YOU that the ol' BP is down to that normal range where it should be. Don't worry you will have the surgery in no time. It will happen fast and you will be loving the results. It's good to hear that your doctor did the best for your health. Good luck.

Awww I'm sorry you didn't get to have the surgery, but it's really good that your PS is cautious. And it's already almost here. Sounds like you're gonna be ready this time with no surprises.

That's definitely what I'm aiming for! I start my xanex tomorrow, and I walked the treadmill today along with a round of pilates. Smooooooth sailing...

I'm sorry that this post is a little late and I'm sorry to hear about your false start. That must have been very aggravating! But it sounds like you're doing all the right things to bring your bp down. Remember, everything happens for a reason -- there was a reason why your surgery was postponed. So good luck on Wednesday!
