Hi guys just wondering if anybodys had any problems doing exercise after their implants?
My ps told me to wait 6 weeks and to be honest i neva did exercise anyway lol but i decided that i wanted to do a bit of exercise because although im really lucky and can eat what i want and not put weight on, iam unfit and get out of breath easily. lol so i just wanted to tone up really. But one exericse i did was lie on the gym ball on my back and do fly overs with weights (weights by sides and pulling them across your chest) i carnt help but think thats why my breast has swollen up. my ps said no it wouldnt be that. But it has put me off doing it now! I was just wondering what kinds of exercise every body does and how long after surgery they did it.. and if anyones had problems doing exercise after surgery? ( |

When was your surgery? My PS would let me exercise for 7 weeks. When I did, he said start slow and wait another week on the upper body. I may have waited a little more. I listened to my body. If it didn't feel good, I didn't do it. I'd say give it a little more time for upper body. You can still do other things.

I do lower body exercises such as squats and lunges. For my upper body,I do biceps, triceps, shoulders and back. I also do some ab work. For cardio,I do my elliptical, walk and some interval cardio. I was cleared at 6 weeks to workout. I was instructed to start out slow...I haven't had any problems....

No real problems, just more weakness in the beginning and different sensation when using my pecs now. Just take it easy when you start out and you should be fine!

Okay. So now I'm a little nervous that I won't be able to do chest exercises when I get my boobs after reading this. Cuz I have been planning on trying to become a deputy sheriff for a while now. I already took the written test but then my county went on a hiring freeze. So I just thought that I would get my boobs first and then go through the rest of the hiring process. But in the academy I would need to do alot of chest exercises, including push ups. So now I'm wondering if I will actually be able to do them after? I just need to get through 6 months of the academy and then I will never do them again  I will have to remember to ask my PS what he thinks about this when I see him on the 13th.

([/QUOT I started back into my exercinse routine around my 6 week mark. I just took it easy. I started jumping jacks and light weights aroung 8 weeks. I took my time… my mucles were pretty sore the first few days so I would take a day in between. The best adivice I can give is work into it slowly.. good luck!!

I waited the full 6 weeks. I went really slow and did mostly cardio and walking til I built my stamina.
In terms of weight for my chest I don't do no more than 5 pound weights, espeacilly if I'm concentrating on my chest. When I do arm exercises I can do more weights. I do find that sometimes my breast get swollen afterward even my tummy. I do enjoy them on the resistance ball. I listen to my body and if it hurts I stop. I would check different workouts for different muscles and right down what you would like to see change on your body. I believe everyone can benefit from exercise. HTH. PS Congrats!!!
